Tom Sawyer is a 1973 musical film based on Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The screenplay adaptation is credited to Robert B. Sherman and Richard M. Sherman and the song score is credited to Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman. The Sherman Brothers became the first Americans in history to win the Moscow Film Festival's "First Award". The Sherman Brothers also share an Academy Award nomination with composer John Williams for "Best Song Score and/or Its Adaptation".
